HELLO THERE! I'M A FRONT-END DEVELOPER, AI SPECIALIST, ML SPECIALIST, DL SPECIALIST WITH A PASSION OF PROBLEM SOLVER BASED IN INDIA.
Having spent a large portion of my life in coding, I've found my passion at the crossroads of design and technology. I started off as a professional in web design, then worked ai, ml, dl, and later went back to school for study. The one lesson that stood out throughout this journey was the importance of the end user. Whether a physical or digital product, its purpose needs to be obvious and the product itself has to be easy to use. So no matter what I'm working on, I always have the user in mind and try my hardest to create an enjoyable experience for them.
When I'm not busy, you can find me obsessing studying and video games, or participating on one of many contest like Hacktoberfest or working on dreamy projects. I tend to switch things up every few months, so if you want to know what I'm up to, just follow me! :)
Ryan Bechtel, a freelance motion designer/animator based in India, recently gave his brand a major overhaul and wanted a new website to match. Following the sleek and vibrant aesthetic of his brand, I've designed and developed a custom Wordpress site for him to showcase his work and attract potential clients.
Final Product
With the help of Advanced Custom Fields and Custom Post Type UI, I built custom page templates to make the process of updating and adding new projects to the website super simple. Since Ryan's industry is all about motion, I also added some playful hover animations throughout the site to reflect that.

MustWatch is a mobile application designed to help you quickly decide what to watch. It consolidates your watchlists and all available titles from the video streaming services you subscribe to so you can easily search and browse without having to switch between apps.
With all the subscription video on demand services that exist today, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available when searching for something to watch. In fact, studies show that U.S. adults spend on average 8-10 minutes searching and often end up choosing something they've already seen, reverting back to basic cable, or giving up altogether.
MustWatch aims to reduce this stress by serving up just 3 random titles from your watchlist at a time so you can spend less time searching and more time actually enjoying the show.
This was a personal project that started off as a deck of handwritten index cards and evolved into a passion project I spent my time on outside of work.
Background
After cutting the cord, I was often in search of the "perfect" show or movie to wind down with, but would end up stressed out by the process of scrolling endlessly from one streaming app to another. So one day, I decided to write down all the shows I was watching onto a deck of index cards and drew three at random to reduce my options.
Not only did this dramatically cut down on the time it took to find something to watch, but I was also happier with the choice (thanks, Hick's Law) and was able to complete some of the TV series I had been putting off. However, the manual upkeep of what I'm currently watching wasn't very sustainable, so naturally, the designer in me proceeded to turn this into a blue sky project.
Minimum Viable Product
I kickstarted this project by defining its goals and needs, then mapped out some task flows and determined these key features:
Consolidated watchlist. Sync watchlists from all subscribed video streaming services.
Randomized titles. Suggest three random options from watchlists for quick decision-making.
Next, I researched and tested out similar apps and used my findings to help identify what content is needed, which screens are essential, and streamlined the task flows. Having all these parameters set allowed me to ideate more efficiently and focus on creating a simple, yet delightful user experience.
Brand Identity
I wanted MustWatch to feel modern, playful, yet approachable, so I used soft shapes and bright, fun colors to emulate that. The logomark is an abstract take on its initials, "M.W.", and can be interpreted as spectacles, eyes, or even the infinity symbol as it often feels as though there are infinite options to watch. The diagonal division is reminiscent of the shine on a TV or screen, and can also be seen as a prohibition symbol when interpreted with the aforementioned infinity symbol to represent how MustWatch helps you reduce the number of options to something less overwhelming.
Final Product
The final design of MustWatch feels very much like a dark movie theater and lets the content take center stage. The accent yellow is used mainly on interactive items and its bold contrast to the dark purple background really helps it stand out. Only the most pertinent content was included and the UI of each screen is focused to the task at hand. Here are some of the highlights:
All of these elements lend themselves in defining a fun and simple experience for the user. No more need to search endlessly through the various streaming services just to unwind after work. MustWatch brings back the simplicity of deciding what to watch so we can all get back to enjoying the movies and tv shows we love.
This is a single-page application that uses AJAX to fetch a random design quote from the Quotes on Design API, as well as a random design-related background image from the Unsplash API. Every quote goes through a process to encode special characters and to get truncated, making it sharable via the Twitter button widget.

RWE, a construction management company, was in need of a website redesign. They felt their old site did not line up very well with their brand and wanted a better way to show off their award-winning designs.
My Role / Final Product
I was the lead designer on this project and worked with my team at Logical Media Group to develop the best strategy for RWE. We landed on a clean, modern aesthetic that really accentuates their beautiful work. The project pages now include a lot more detail, an image gallery, and clear call to actions for prospective clients to get in touch.
Anning-Johnson, a national specialty construction company, reached out to Logical Media Group for a website redesign. I was tasked with designing a custom set of icons for each of their locations and based them on the tallest, most iconic buildings and landmarks in each city.
This is a single-page weather app that uses the HTML5 Geolocation and Wunderground APIs to retrieve the weather forecast for the user's current location. It's a responsive design that uses a mixture of JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX to request, manipulate, and output data to the page.
Pure CSS Weather Icons
When I was building this weather app, I was also learning about pure CSS images, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to apply that new knowledge! These weather icons rely on the :before and :after CSS psuedo-elements to keep them modular, easy to include, and relatively flat in structure. Check them out on Codepen!
UI/UX Design
Even though this is a simple web application, I still wanted it to deliver a great user experience. A pulsing button animation invites the user to share their location and the message bar at the top provides helpful information about the app's current status.
